POLITICAL FIRESTORM AS JOE BIDEN GIVES $6 BILLION TO IRAN AMID TERRORISM CONCERNS
Barry: House and Senate Republicans are deeply troubled by Joe Biden's decision to provide $6 billion to Iran in euros, fearing it may support terrorism. They feel helpless in stopping this allocation, which has caused significant distress among U.S. citizens. An Arkansas senator and staunch Biden critic, Tom Cotton called the Iran policy shameless. He noted Biden's use of the 9/11 anniversary to justify troop withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021 and criticized the president for repeating this on the same day by funding Iran, a major sponsor of terrorism. Mike Lawler of New York also pointed out Biden's absence from New York on 9/11, choosing to be in Alaska instead.
Will: It's truly mind-boggling. I was discussing this just yesterday. Are we expected to believe that the $6 billion sent to Iran is for humanitarian purposes? It's a difficult pill to swallow, considering that this is the same regime that frequently chants "death to America" and "death to Israel." They're also collaborating with Russia and China in their pursuit of a global system. Yet, we're supposed to trust that they will act in the right way.
Adding to the confusion, Blinken and the Biden administration argue that this money rightfully belonged to Iran in the first place. It wasn't our money; it was theirs, they say. Originally, this assertion was made, but questions arose. We exchanged a handful of prisoners, almost evenly, so why did we need to include a $6 billion payment? "It was their money to start with," they repeated. Now, essentially, they've indirectly financed a terrorist organization.
