PLAGIARISM SCANDAL ROCKS HARVARD: DIVERSITY OFFICER UNDER INVESTIGATION
Barry: Harvard just can't seem to get it right. They dismissed the president for plagiarism. Now, the DEI officer faces 40 allegations of plagiarism against her, yet she remains in her position. What actions will Harvard take? We were discussing Harvard just a moment ago. Claudine Gay, the former president of Harvard, faced as many as 50 plagiarism allegations, leading to her dismissal. However, it wasn't her anti-Semitism that resulted in her firing, but rather her inability to acknowledge that anti-Semitism violates the code of conduct. Furthermore, numerous academics came forward claiming she had stolen their work. Now, attention has turned to another individual at Harvard, Sherri Ann Charleston. She, along with her husband LaVar Charleston, who is currently employed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, faces between 40 and 50 plagiarism allegations. As the head of Harvard's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office, she has numerous people stepping forward, no longer focusing their complaints on Ms. Gay but now on Ms. Charleston, accusing her of theft. Despite 40 plagiarism allegations against her, she remains in her position. She hasn't been reprimanded; she hasn't been fired. She hasn't received a pay cut. Gay now earns $1 million a year and she's not even working as president.
Will: The common denominator here is that plagiarism can be committed freely as long as you're black, and you're aware of it. I was reflecting on this recently. Have you ever wondered why black individuals are allowed to commit numerous offenses without facing consequences? It's because they supposedly don't know any better. Therefore, we must be lenient towards these black individuals due to their alleged ignorance about committing plagiarism or realizing they're committing a crime. What other explanation could there be? You often hear these same black individuals advocating for equality, desiring equal treatment. However, when it comes to being held to the same standards as a white person or anyone else, suddenly, it doesn't apply. Then, the claim of equality is disregarded because they're 'victims' who 'didn't know any better.' What else could it be? This is DEI in action. This is what DEI is supposedly about.
